Lucas Schrimsher (Q&A - December 2011)

Lucas Schrimsher, 17, of Roswell, N.M., made great strides in 2011, winning a silver medal in the junior division of the U.S. National Championships, and capturing a bronze medal in the mixed relay at the Youth A World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey, alongside teammate Anna Olesinski. Lucas trains with his older brother Nathan Schrimsher and Olesinski under the tutelage of her father Jan Olesinski.

Marshall Stymer (Q&A - November 2011)

Marshall Stymer, 19, of Philomath, Ore., qualified for the Palm Springs World Cup event earlier this year and also competed at the USA Pentathlon National Championships in Colorado Springs where he finished 12th overall.

Caitlin Flathers, 23, of Rixeyville, Va., picked up the sport of modern pentathlon after watching the 2008 Olympic Games. She has progressed quickly in the sport, winning a bronze medal in the 2010 Senior National Championships, and is currently a full-time resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
