Jess Savner (Davis) spent her childhood doing a myriad of sports and always wanted to one day take one of them as far as they could go. This dream finally came true in October 2023 where she qualified for the Paris Olympics at the PanAmerican Games.
Here are 5 things outside of being a modern pentathlete to know about her:
- Both of her parents were athletes. Jess’s mother was an elite equestrian in the hunter division and had Jess on horses as soon as she was able to stand. Her father, an elite triathlete, competed at the Ironman in Kona.
- She is an avid reader and reads on average 130 books a year. Wanting a hobby, she could do while traveling and recovering Jess began reading a variety of genres to keep her busy, she hopes to have a home library one day.
- Jess has done a lot of sports but the sport that got her through high school and into DIV 1 college track and field was Pole Vault, where we won numerous records and state championships.
- This year Jess has also expanded into her passion for fencing and has begun coaching at a club in her home state of Connecticut.
