Resident Program Application

If anyone is interested in applying for the 2009-2010 USA Pentathlon Resident Athlete Program in Colorado Springs, please complete the attached application and submit to Brad Camp, CEO, USA Pentathlon via email, bcamp@usapentathlon.org, fax:  719-866-3036, or mail:  USA Pentathlon, 1 Olympic Plaza, Colorado Springs, CO  80909.

The resident program runs from October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010.   An athlete can apply anytime for the RA program.

The following is the criteria to qualify for this program.

CRITERIA: 

 To be eligible for the 2009-2010 OTC Resident & Training Program, athletes must meet specific standards and will be accepted into the program in the following order of priority: 

  • Athletes who finished in the top 10 in 2009 World Cups, the World Cup Final in 2009, shall qualify for the resident program.
  • Athletes may apply to the resident program head coach for admission to the program based on their performances in 2008/2009 pentathlon competitions.  Eligible competitions would include UIPM Level A, B, and C, the US National, and the Canadian National Championships.  These athletes will be performance tested to determine if they will be eligible to enter the residence and/or training program.
  • Athletes may apply to the resident program head coach based on their performances in running or swimming competitions.  These athletes will be performance tested to determine if they will be eligible to enter the residence and/or training program.

The following tables detail the standards that must be met in the senior, junior, and youth age groups.

  • Running distance is 3000 m (Seniors, Juniors, & Youth)
    • Men: 1000 pts =10:00.0 minutes +/- each second =4 pts
    • Women: 1000 pts. =11:20.0 minutes +/- each second =4 pts
  • Swimming distance is 200 m (Seniors, Juniors, &Youth)
    • Men & Women: 1000 pts.=2:30.0 minutes +/- each second 12 pts
