RULES AND REGULATIONS
GENERAL
- All athletes compete at their own risk
- All events will take place irrespective of the weather conditions, unless organizers deem conditions to be unsafe.
- All athletes must be registered at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their respective race/s.
- Any athlete in difficulty while swimming, must raise their arm and shout for HELP. They will then be rescued by lifesavers on boats and paddle skis patrolling the race.
- No wetsuits or swimming aids will be allowed in the swimming part of the race.
- The relay event consists two teammates (runner and swimmer) going though the indicated distances.
- All finishers receive an official event medal
- Athletes will be disqualified for any of the following reasons:
- Failing to obey organizers / officials / lifesavers instructions
- Receiving external assistance during the course of the race
- Any action that brings the event into disrepute - Please mind your stairs at the transition area and go one competitor at the time in a single line
- Please do not over take a competitor at the entire transition area
- Please wave your hands if you need help during the swimming course
- Please climb out the stairs after the swimming one at the time
- Competition Clothing
- Due to the run & swim format of the race, athletes are required to compete wearing clothes that are tight fitting, yet comfortable during both running and swimming. Women should wear one or two pieces of clothing suitable for the entire race (swim suit or sports bra). We ask that male competitors wear a tight fitting shirt "bolero" (lycra t-shirt) to be worn while swimming and running. All athletes must wear vests identifying their nation. Note to all competitors that shoes/trainers MUST be worn during the running portion of the competition and must be removed for the swimming portion of the race at the transition area. (No crocs or other type of flips flops are allowed)
VISAS
Visiting nations should confirm visa and vaccination requirements for entry into United Arab Emirates prior to travelling to the event. The LOC cannot accept responsibility for arranging visas but can provide specific letters of invitation if needed. For information if you need a visa or vaccinations please contact your nearest Embassy or Consulate. Entry Visas, if needed, will be arranged by hotel upon confirmation of booking.
