The Swedish Federation of Modern Pentathlon together with our pentathlon club in Uppsala has the great pleasure to invite a delegation of your country to participate in the 2010 Youth World Championships that is going to be held in Uppsala June 10 - 13 according to the following programme:

Thursday June 10 Men´s Fencing, Women´s and Men´s Swimming, Individual Competition

Saturday June 12 Cultural Day
Technical Meeting Men & Women Relay & Mixed Relay
Sunday June 13 Women's and Men's Relay, Mixed Relay, Banquet and disco
Monday June 14 Departure of all Delegations
RULES
The competition will be carried out according to the UIPM Rules. All events will be arranged in- and outside the Sport-Centre of Fyrishov.
Swimming: 50m indoor swimming pool / 8 lanes
Fencing: 16 pistes
Combined event: Running on grass and asphalt. Shooting: 38 lanes shooting range, electronic targets - Level A, CO2 and compressed air will be available.
ECONOMICAL CONDITIONS
All participants will be accommodated at Hotel Scandic North. The price includes full board accommodation, local transportation, culture day activities and entry to the competition. The below mentioned fees are effective June 8 - 14. Delegations arriving earlier or departing later are not guaranteed the same price. The cost of stay per person per night is:

The currency exchange rate is fixed at 1.00 Euro € = 1.39751 USD or 0.87189 GBP
Delegations are required to send by bank transfer a minimum of 30% of the total amount of your accommodation invoice by 12 May 2010. Otherwise, the reservation will not be guaranteed. Payment must be in Euros (€).
After receiving Final Entry Form C and deposit (non-refundable) we will send you an Invoice for the remainder of the total cost for your Delegation. This is to be paid by bank transfer by May 24 or by cash (Euros, € and US Dollars only, $) at the accreditation desk upon arrival. For your and our convenience we kindly ask you to make payment by transfer. Four athletes per gender per NF can take part.
Nations wishing to arrange their own accommodation must pay (USD $100) accreditation fee per participant (coaches and athletes) which is to be sent by bank transfer with Entry Form B. For this, we will provide lunch packets for the competition days and allow access to official transportation between the Headquarters hotel and competition sites.
ENTRY FORMS
Form A at the end of this invitation must be completed and submitted to the Organisers by April 9 2010.
Forms B & C are also included in this invitation which should be sent by fax or email in the usual way.
Please read the section regarding Visas very carefully.
If you do not complete the information required prior to the deadline, or we do not receive your Delegation's deposit payment, then we will assume that your delegation is not participating.
Delegations are reminded of the new Rule 1.15.3
If, on arrival for the competition, the team has fewer athletes and/or officials than listed on their Final Entry Form and without informing the Organising Nation/LOC at least 7 days prior to their arrival, the NF will pay a fine to the Organising Nation/LOC of 200 Euros for each person less.
Following confirmation of the final entries, a NF must enter the competition with at least one pentathlete. Any NF failing to take part after having sent their final entries will pay a fine of USD 750 to UIPM.
We would appreciate the early confirmation of your intention to participate or not. Please submit Entry Form A at the end of this document as early as possible.
Deadlines for the Entry Forms are as follows:
Form A before April 9, 2010
Form B before May 12, 2010
Form C before May 26, 2010, including swimming times
ATHLETES' LICENSES
Athletes are only allowed to participate in UIPM sanctioned events if they are in possession of a valid UIPM issued Athletes License. Entry Forms will not be accepted if any athlete is missing his/her License Number. Please contact UIPM Headquarters immediately if your athlete is missing his/her License.
Teams have to present the licenses to the LOC on their arrival.
If an athlete forgets their License, they must pay a fine of 50 Euros to the UIPM Technical Delegate. This fine will remain the property of UIPM.
If an athlete does not have a license and has not requested a license from UIPM they will not be allowed to take part in the competition.
TRAINING
The LOC will offer training facilities for swimming and fencing.
EQUIPMENT CONTROL
- § The equipment control for fencing will be at the Scandic Hotel on June 9 at 18.00 - 22.00
- § The pistol control will be at the Competition Venue prior to the start.
TRANSPORTATION PLAN
Transportation from the airport to the official hotel and the return journey is only guaranteed if flight information is provided in good time, and according to the deadline on Entry Form C. Transportation from the official hotel to the venue for athletes will be according to the training and competition programme.
The busses for Uppsala will depart STOCKHOLM/ARLANDA airport, Terminal 5, the following times:
June 8: 11.00 am, 15.00 pm, 19.00 pm
June 9: 10.00 am, 13.00 pm, 16.00 pm, and 19.00 pm
The busses for STOCKHOLM/ARLANDA airport from Uppsala will depart the following times:
June 14: 05.00 am, 08.00 am, 11.00 am, and 14.00 pm
For your convenience we ask you to organize your air-travel according to the bus-schedule.
VISAS & VACCINATIONS
Visiting nations should confirm visa and vaccination requirements for entry into Sweden prior travelling to the event. The LOC cannot accept responsibility for arranging visas but can provide specific letters of invitation if needed. For information if you need a visa or vaccinations please contact you're nearest Embassy or Consulate.
INSURANCE
The organiser will not accept any responsibility financial or otherwise for loss, injury or illness of any Delegation member. All members of the attending Delegations must insure themselves by a sufficient health, accident and liability insurance. By submitting the entry the National Federation confirms that all persons named on the entry are covered by such insurance.
FIREARMS
Firearms licenses are not a legal requirement when bringing air and CO2 pistols into Sweden for competition purposes.
GENERAL INFORMATION
All athletes are kindly requested to wear their official national uniform at the competition and during all ceremonies.
Please contact directly the LOC to request accommodation for family and friends wishing to attend the competition.
The weather conditions in Uppsala in June may vary between 10 - 25 degrees (Celsius).
