The UK has introduced a new system of visas this year for nationals of those countries requiring one.  This document lists the nations requiring visas and gives further guidance about how to apply.  Please note that applicants for visas will now have to apply IN PERSON at a British Embassy in their country.  The UK authorities are recommending that applications are made at least two months in advance of the date of travel.  Please read the information on this website http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/doineedvisa

You will be able to apply for a Sports Visitor Visa if you are invited by an event organiser in the UK to take part in a one-off sports event or a series of sports events as a competitor.  Coaches, officials, event volunteers or support staff accompanying the sportsperson would also qualify.  The organisers of the World Championships will be happy to supply a letter of invitation to those National Federations requesting one.
